Guided tour of the listed old town of Rust. During a walk, you will learn interesting facts about the history and architecture of our little town. Due to its short duration (approx. 1 hour), this program is also ideal at the beginning or end of a seminar day.

CITY MUSEUM KREMAYRHAUS

On two floors, farmhouse furniture from western Austria is lovingly showcased. A special piece is a tiled stove made by the artist Koschka in 1895, which had travelled halfway around the world before finding its final destination in Rust. The stove depicts a so-called “poor man’s Bible”. Also on display are a wide variety of paintings, tapestries and pieces of furniture that cast the 17th-century house in a special light. In addition, important items from the Rust city archives are exhibited, including the city’s most important charter – namely the one granting it free city status.

FISCHERKIRCHE RUST

The most valuable building in Rust in terms of art and cultural history, the oldest preserved church in Burgenland with original frescoes from the 13th century.
